Fiji has emerged as a sought-after holiday homes destination for Australians, who are taking advantage of the weak Fiji dollar, and Britons might want to follow their example.
The number of Australians buying homes in Fiji has doubled over the last two years, real estate agent Carol West from Professionals Fiji said.
Buyers, mainly baby boomers and retirees, are being attracted by the possibility of the dollar potential in Fiji and the four airlines linking the two countries.
Besides Fiji, Bali and Malaysia are also becoming increasingly attractive as holiday home locations for Australians, News.com.au has reported.
Angelo Piazetta, director of Property Planning Australia, said: "I think it just depends on who has the best marketing.
"In the past year people have been interested in Malaysia because there's new complexes or apartments going up there."
