There are still sufficient opportunities in the French property market for British buyers to secure an "excellent purchase", experts said.
Holiday home insurance provider Shelter Offshore said the country ticks a lot of boxes for shrewd buyers, with relatively affordable valuations and its close proximity to the UK.
For investors, France's status as a favourite holiday destination for Britons means rental yields are likely to remain attractive, the group added.
The news provider, which offers advice to Britons moving and living overseas, said while it was often difficult for Britons considering buying overseas to find the right property at the right price, the benefits on offer make it worthwhile persisting.
It said: "An investment in a property in France can be a very slow burning, steady commitment that can return you decent capital appreciation as well as rental income."
Meanwhile, Christopher Chadd, head of research at Property Frontiers, said the low cost of travel to France and short journey times mean it should remain a popular destination for Britons looking for overseas property.
