Travelling to France is a more attractive prospect when the Channel Tunnel is chosen as the means of getting there, it has been suggested.
Managing director of French Travel Service Bill Smallwood said the combination of the Eurostar and the high-speed TGV in France mean people can enjoy a "civilised, more comfortable way of travelling, combined with the opportunity to see the changing landscapes of France as you head south."
Such a mode of transport may help to bolster the popularity of investment property bought in parts of France that are close to the high-speed routes.
Mr Smallwood noted while not every resort has an airport, they do all have train stations, making rail access the easiest way to arrive.
A recent press release from French holiday rental apartment company Pierre & Vacances revealed bookings in Normandy are eight per cent up on this time last year, while Picardy and Brittany are also doing better than the rest of France.
