Properties near famous sporting grounds and popular events are never going to be cheap, high profile coupling with high demand to significantly increase asking prices. However, for certain events in certain parts of the world bargains are still available, and buyers with a particular interest could find themselves a perfect property investment opportunity well within their price range.

One example of this is the French Grand Prix, due to be underway in the coming months. The event draws race fans from around the world every year, flocking to the Magny Cours circuit to catch a piece of the action. As a result, hotels in the surrounding region tend to be fully booked for the duration of the Grand Prix.

For the truly dedicated race fans with enough disposable income to spend, a viable option is to purchase a property in the area. Magny Cours offers year-round racing for the committed enthusiast, and a prime location for when the French Grand Prix itself takes place. In this regard buy-to-let opportunities are of particular appeal, with demand certain to be high.

In the nearby Bourgogne/ Nievre region a 14th century chateau complete with 14 bedrooms, inner courtyard and five bathrooms can be snapped up for €1,400,000. Though not cheap, the buy-to-let prospects of properties such as this are obvious, and investments could be seriously profitable in the mid to long-term.

According to F1Live.com another, notably cheaper, property in the region is the 14th century chateau near the A77/ A6, complete with various outhouses, 32 hectares of woodland and private chapel, for €580,000. Elsewhere, closer to Paris, a similar price range could secure property on 50 hectares worth of land, with a second chateau "thrown in for good measure". The catch in all of this, if you want to call it that, is that many of these types of property require a level of restoration before they are fully liveable, so a purchase would need to be treated as more of an ongoing project.

Nonetheless, racing enthusiasts in Europe could do worse than to invest in properties near circuits such as Magny Cours, if only for the buy-to-let opportunities they offer in the future.
